Hoya Robotics Team 4152 unveils our new logo!

Hoya Robotics Team 4152

We are excited to unveil our new logo. Our team has grown and students from schools (i.e. Almaguin, Rosseau) that don't have teams have expressed interest in joining our team. We wanted to ensure that our logo was inclusive to the following:

- students from other schools

- students of all genders and gender identities

In addition it is very important for us to reflect the nature of our community.

About our logo

Our logo is a cedar and canvas canoe modelled on the original canoe's from Camp Big Canoe. We run a robotics training camp there every year. Camp Big Canoe is named after Chief Lorenzo Big Canoe. This allows us to pay tribute to the First Nations communities located. The Town of Huntsville's motto is "Touch the past, embrace the future". We wanted to include a historical technology that played such an important part in Huntsville's past. The canoe also is a tool that moves us forward - you can use it alone, but you will move faster when you paddle together.

The sprocket shape in the outside is similar to the sprocket's used on our first robot in 2012 - there are 12 teeth (we started in 2012 with 12 students).
